Andrea Benitez Cypert is an artist based in Southern California. I work in with a wide array of drawing and painting media such as color pencil, graphite, acrylic and oils. I'm an alumni of the Chaffey College Drawing/Painting program and a BFA graduate from Cal State Fullerton where I studied Illustration and Graphic Design.
My drawings and paintings have been exhibited locally at the Chaffey Community Museum of Art (CCMA), the Ontario Museum of History and Art, and the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art in Rancho Cucamonga. Prominent works include public art for my beloved hometown - a mural for the Town Square band shell, and bench murals at the Conservation Park in Ontario, CA. In 2015, I had the fantastic opportunity to complete a documentary portrait project titled Faces of the Community, which engaged the local community. The portraits were exhibited at CCMA and then at the Ontario Museum of History and Art in 2016 in conjunction with the 125th Anniversary of the City. On November 2, 2016, I was honored as an Alumni of the Year by Chaffey College for my arts and community service in Ontario. I enjoy finding inspiration by taking vacations (I prefer the greater outdoors), reading blogs, articles and books (business, entrepreneur and personal finance are my current obsession), cooking and eating delicious foods. I currently live and work in Upland, California with my husband and best friend Tom, and my studio mate, Mr. Gold (and in case you're wondering: yes, I am a crazy cat lady!)
