I'm an artist based in Southern California, working in a variety of drawing and painting media such as color pencil, graphite, acrylic and oils. I grew up in Ontario, CA and trained in the Chaffey College Drawing/Painting program. I got my BFA degree from Cal State Fullerton in 2012 where I studied Illustration and Graphic Design.
My drawings and paintings have been exhibited locally at the Ontario Museum of History and Art, the Chaffey Community Museum of Art (CCMA), and the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art in Rancho Cucamonga. Prominent works include public art for my beloved hometown - a mural for the Town Square band shell, and bench murals at the Conservation Park in Ontario, CA. In 2015, I had the fantastic opportunity to complete a documentary portrait project titled Faces of the Community, which engaged the local community. The portraits were exhibited at CCMA and then at the Ontario Museum of History and Art in 2016 in conjunction with the 125th Anniversary of the City. On November 2, 2016, I was honored as an Alumni of the Year by Chaffey College for my arts and community service in Ontario. I ran Andrea Benitez Art, my self-employment art and design business from 2012-2018. After getting married, I closed up shop to start a new business with my photographer husband, Tom & Andrea Arts. Together we combined all our individual skills and experience to help small businesses. We offered services and products in photography, photo editing and retouching, custom art, graphic design, marketing and branding. After living in Upland for several years with our studio mate, Mr. Gold (an Orange tabby), we bought our first house in November 2021, and moved back to my beloved hometown of Ontario, California.
In January 2022 my husband Tom passed away at the age of 36. I am currently on hiatus from any art making or exhibitions while I grieve and figure out what's next.
